The mountains are a world not created by humans but dictated by the laws of nature. There, silence, the division between day and night, dawn, dusk, and the changing seasons matter. There, one encounters extreme beauty and simultaneously realizes their place in the universe. One gains humility.
This is why mountain hikes always allowed me to return to the "here and now," to regain balance. When the pandemic prevented me from traveling as often as before, I felt an immense longing.
This photo zine is a story of my personal relationship with the mountains. I found silence there. Silence within myself.
